Hey, this is Dan Lok. If you don’t know me, we have generated over a hundred million in coaching and digital core sales and growing rapidly. And the main reason that we are able to do that is because I have leveraged social media to grow our audience and to grow our sales. So today we are gonna talk about how do you create online presence, right? How do you get this ability? How do you get attention from social media? Now, today, as we are recording this episode, we have over 9 million followers across my social media platforms, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok all that combined. Now, what are some of the things that I’ve learned during this process? And that is number one. If you are not searchable, you are not hireable. If they cannot search you, they cannot hire you from their perspectives. You don’t exist. Visibility is more important than ability.
So how do you get that online presence? It’s not about getting followers. Listen to me, it’s not about getting followers. Number one, you want to pick one or two platforms to start with and to focus on. You don’t want to do what most people do. A little bit of Twitter, a little bit of Instagram, a little bit of TikTok,, little bit of Facebook, little bit of YouTube. I don’t believe in that. Now when I was starting out, I was focusing on one channel and that is YouTube. Why? Because Google owns YouTube. Not only Google is the largest search engine. YouTube is the second largest search engine. So I want to focus on that. I want to be able to have people find me. And if you go to YouTube, you try to type in high ticket sales, closing, cooperating. You will find my content one way or the other.
You cannot not see me. I am very, very searchable. When you are searchable, you are hireable. So don’t try to pursue all these platforms. Just pick one, just pick one, right? That’s number one, number two, consistency trumps intensity. I have seen experts and coaches, and consultants, where they create a whole bunch of content. They kind of go hard like for 30 days, and then they quit because they’re not getting traction. They’re like, oh, I’m not getting clients. So I give up, well, let me tell you this. With my YouTube channel, I did not hit my first viral video. Meaning a video there’s gotten over a million views in total until I have made 983 videos. I’ll say that one more time. Listen, 983 videos that I’ve uploaded until I hit that first viral video. I wasn’t aiming for home run. I was just heating the singles, heating the singles, and that’s what you do.
And I know it sucks in the beginning. You upload your video. No one is watching it and then you upload it. No one is watching it. You’re not getting subscribers. You’re not getting, you’re not getting as much traction as you want. I know how it feels. When I uploaded my first video, I’m like, Hey, who’s gonna watch this. But I kept going and I kept going. I kept going. I kept going. It went from zero. Then you have a little traction. You gain followers. You get a little bit more traction. You gain followers and you keep on going and going and going and going. And before you know it, you have this massive online presence. So consistency trumps intensity. Don’t try to do it for 30 days. Think of this as something that you would do for the rest of your life.
That’s how I see it. I don’t look at it as I’m gonna try a few things here. No, I’m gonna leverage this platform. I’m gonna leverage social media. I am going to leverage the attention, monetize the attention, get visibility. If you’re not getting visibility, it’s not the social media’s fault. It’s your fault. That’s number two, consistency. And you’ll see suddenly you’ll hit a critical mass and boom, you’ll see the hockey stick growth. And that’s what we’ve seen. Whoever lasts the longest will win. When it comes to social media, whoever’s the most consistent will win when it comes to social media. So that’s number two, number three, within social media. When you’re getting the followers, what you wanna do is you wanna offer them something for free. You wanna take that attention from social media.

You wanna bring it to you. You want to have them join your list, get your lead magnet. You offer something for free in exchange of their email, address and name. And now they are in your email list. And now you can build the relationships. One of the things that has been working very well for us is we put them into some sort of check group. We use telegram. I have clients and mentees where they use WhatsApp. Either way. You put them in some sort of group, and now you nurture the relationships. We don’t use Facebook groups anymore. I’ll talk more about that in the future. Why we don’t, but for now understand social media consistency, pick one platform that you choose, that you focus on. Offer value, unbelievable value, right? From there, you offer something for free. You get them on your email list. Now you nurture the relationships. Now you could offer them something. That’s how you utilize social media. That’s how you build their online presence to get those high ticket clients. It’s as simple as that, those are the steps. Are you gonna follow them? Are you gonna follow through, are you gonna do them? That’s up to you. Until then go high ticket.
